Hi,
CROUCH - HOLD - PAUSE -ENGAGE
No, not the instructions for the lanky Liverpool and
England striker to ask for his WAG's hand in marriage,
but the signal of the start of the 6 nations next week.
There are some great opportunities not in the head to
head matches but in the more exotic bets that are
bound to come our way thanks to our close personal
chums the bookmakers.
The 6 nations has, for me, been a no lose tournament
- why? Well, when England play I cheer them on,
when Ireland play, I go out with my brother and his
Irish rugby top and cheer them on. When Wales are
on, I go out with my brother's welsh wife and cheer
them on. When Scotland are on, I go out with Jimmy
Krankie (only joking!)
On to the betting markets, and if there's one thing I
learnt from the World Cup was that there is some great
in running trading to be done.
Now Rugby is not my strong point, but as I've done
throughout January on the blog, I like to play the
probability game, better known as backing multiple
options - and in the outright winner market we have
dutchable bets on England and France to win - decent
enough I think.
Triple crown winner - England and No winner are
dutchable for me.
As to match odds markets, well I will be guided I think
by the Racing Post who I believe will have a Rugby
Special in today's paper, and I will be using their
match by match analysis as a guide to any potential
interest I might have in the games.(note I say guide -
long are the days when I have relied on any other
person's opinion when I'm putting my money down - I
want to be the person I curse if I lose!)
All in all it will be an enjoyable affair. I must, though,
remember where I am now and consign the England
top to the cupboard (or wear it in the lounge at least! )
and get to cheering on the Ireland boys who were
diabolical in the World Cup.
Personally, I will be watching any games with Italy
playing with interest - there are a far more competitive
outfit and may surprise! (although at the end of the day
my main bread and butter will be the footy!)

THE 3 INTO 1 SYSTEM
Question -what do you do with 2 inconsistent backing
systems and one quite good backing system?
Answer - put them together and come up with a
potential good backing system!
This is what I sought to do with the 3 into 1 system
which I'm trialling in the System Blueprints section of
www.whatreallywinsmoney.com and recent
performance has mirrored the kind of performance that
got me excited about this system.
I started to trial it on the site of course after hugely
impressive gains from October to December, only for
my close show biz pal Sod to implement his self
named law.
9 from 12 recently augurs well, and there are some
distinctions I can make to improve strike rate, such as
avoiding multiple handicap winners that the system
brings up and not backing heavy odds ons, so I hope
to enlighten you when, and if, this selection systems
profit are consistent enough.
LOOK INTO MY EYES, LOOK INTO MY EYES, NOT
AROUND THE EYES , LOOK INTO MY EYES -
YOU'RE UNDER!
My close show biz pal Derren Brown airs his unfallable
horse racing system tonight at 9pm on Channel 4 and
this , I think, is going to make superb viewing -
compulsive viewing for us compulsive gamblers!
No doubt Stephen Brookes will be releasing his Derren
Brown Operation X Top Secret Hypnosis Revolution
Ebook on Monday so watch out for it.
On the subject of the great one, a word about his
Football Miracle system. I have it on good authority
that this is simply a lay the draw, back the 0-0 and
trade after a goal (YAWN) - this is a system that has
been around so long, it has appeared on the Antiques
Roadshow! Another rehashing of old ideas for £37!
Other Brookes books I have received from readers (
and many thanks to them - do continue sending and I
will share cost) was Racing System Revolution and
Project Beta X ( you remember that one - it's the one
with Operation X ( but don't tell everyone I think Mi5
are on to me!))
These 2 systems are almost identical, telling us to
watch out for steamers 10 minutes before the off etc
etc etc , and to reiterate, most Brookes books will be
bad purchases because they focus on the live market
and are of no real benefit to seasoned Betfairians
because he's selling ideas that are frankly common
knowledge . With the focus on the live betting markets,
these ebooks will not help those who have to work
during the day.
READER'S EXPERIENCE
I received this email from a reader recently, and it is
typical really of what will happen if you get involved in
these promise the earth glossy brochure tipsters
-----------------------
"Hi Clive
Thought you might want to know about my experience
with a 'shyster' named Marcus Cole who operates from
82 King Street, Manchester.
He gave me a free trial of his racing tips and the
results were ok so I decided to subscribe for a couple
of months. However there were then hardly any tips
and the ones that were given out were pretty poor.
Then he rings me up and says he's got a dead cert
and could I help him out as he simply can't get enough
money on it himself. He asks me if I will put some on
for him and whatever I want for myself. He says its got
no chance of losing but if it does he will re-imburse
me. I'm embarrassed to admit that I fell for this and
agreed to it. Guess what - the horse came in 48
lengths behind the 4th-placed horse and despite
several letters to him, I'm still waiting for my money
(some hope !) People like him deserve exposing for
what they are and I hope you can warn your readers
off him."
Regards ANON
---------------------------
I've mentioned before about how some of these
"tipsters" will get you to place bets on their behalf.
Now, as will usually happen, the £ notes will cloud
your judgement and you'll do it, only you end up with
the burden of losses and still have to send them
winnings - how utterly ridiculous is this business
relationship - in which other area would you entertain
this idea? I can't reiterate enough that you must
exercise common sense in this arena - it seems to be
the only place where common sense is left at
reception!
BLOGTASTIC
As February begins, I look back on a good month in
January on the blog, and the success is largely due to
being extremely choosy in my bets. Take yesterday for
example, I only had 2 bets out of the many, many
races staged - one to lay a short priced favourite in a
big field heavy ground maiden hurdle and the second
to place back Jaunty Flight - 2 bets - that was it -
both obliged and I didn't even bother with evening
racing. This method of disciplined betting is serving me
very well indeed, and you should model aspects of it.
Remember there are races and other events out there
that are just unfathomable, yet I read it on the forums,
some people will try to go from one race to the next to
the next looking to make money ( or ultimately lose) in
every race and every football match.
Opportunities arise, if not today, then perhaps
tomorrow or the next day, and a more selective betting
strategy will increase returns hugely.
I have used the above with the blog acting as a great
prompter for me so I know which races to concentrate
on and what, by and large, I will be doing and I really
hope this will follow through February ( in fact it had
better because I pretty much back everything I put in
the blog!)
So check it out at
http://www.whatreallywinsmoney.com/blog.
I put many hours into this blog per week and if the
success continues, I will have to make it a member's
only service - it is currently free!
SYSTEM ULTRA
Having dissed the mighty Brookes, I am beginning to
feel this system of his ( well Steve Lee Jones) has a
good future, but with one caveat - we do not back to
level stakes as advised, because it's losing - we use
the safebetplan.
I have taken it upon myself to inquire with a bet
placement service as to the viability of them trialling
the system ultra with safebetplan If - and only if - the
profits continue. Again, as you can probably surmise
from this, System Ultra needs us to know the market
leader at race start.
Other systems whose trials have began - well the
awesome price finder has arrived and at first glance it
is a "back a biggie" system with, frankly, horrendous
losing runs which it is hoped will be accommodated by
the sometime huge priced winners (enhanced via
Betfair ).
Personally this is a system requiring faith that it will
produce the big priced winner, and is not one I would
personally use, but because it is mechanical in nature,
it is worth monitoring - so expect an update in the next
newsletter or on the website.
I have also received the Golden Goose laying software
which reminds me of lay genius in that we have to
input certain details into the software for it to give us a
lay selection. Donald Hunting's systems, especially his
Merlin Radar football system, will get a good go this
weekend and is something I am looking forward to as
it is intriguing to say the least.
So there's plenty to keep me off the streets and out of
the pubs (d'oh!)
The SuperBowl is on the 3rd Feb and the New England
Patriots are warm favourites but frankly I haven't got
any idea about this softy's version of rugby so will be
safely asleep when the advert's take place (interrupted
by the game ) .
So it's all Crouch-pause-hold-engage and wedding
bells on the horizon this weekend. A full fixture list of
rugby and football (with the threat of horse racing
being decimated) should ensure the betfair account
moves forward - follow my adventure on the blog and
have a great weekend!
Until next time,
Clive
