Hi
Did you know that John Terry has gone into Vodka
production?
He's bottled it in Russia!
Groan! Yes I know, a Jimmy Tarbuck-esque joke
about John Terry - there's also the Chocolate
Orange joke - "It's not Terry's - it's mine" and so
on and so on. What a great game though. The 2nd
half was what I hoped the first half would be like -
i.e. goalless, and the first half was what I thought
the second half was going to be like!
Also this week, Celtic wrapped up the SPL title, as
Rangers capitulated to Aberdeen last night. Those
who laid Rangers at 1.3 for the title and backed
Celtic at a juicy price with 7 matches remaining,
will, no doubt, have retired now!
Footy season is at an end - playoffs remain, as does
Euro 2008. Before that there's the best Grand Prix
on the circuit - the Monaco Grand Prix- this is
actually a Grand Prix I don't mind watching.
The betting should be straightforward I would
suggest - back the Pole Position starter to win the
race? Only mechanical or tactical errors will get
him beat? No chance at all for overtaking. I am also
banking on an appearance by the Brook, as she
scampers around desperately looking for me in the
Pit Area.
I will, my dear Kelly, be in Killarney as I have now
received my ticket to see Billy Connolly on Monday
night. Now the Big yin is funnier than a Steven
Brookes "join the 99.99% of Betfair elite -send me
£37 - silly ebook title -etc" gubbins we get
subjected to daily and I am really looking forward
to seeing him live (Connolly - NOT Brookes)
Living in Guernsey as I did, the highlight of our
show biz year was, I think, Shawaddywaddy
wheeled out in their Zimmers one Christmas. Oh,
and the Krankies used to live in Guernsey, which is
about as near to Scottish comedy genius as we got!

WELD/SMULLEN/O'BRIEN
These guys have been doing a Chelsea this week -
pretty much hitting the post. I've lost count of the
amount of head 2nds at decent prices, although I'm
satisfied with overall performance - plenty of each
way places keeps stakes protected until the big
prices arrive.
This is definitely a strategy for the future - follow
on the blog and see how it progresses day by day.
Each way selections really are the ideal here - as
I've said, stakes are returned for placed horses.
Aiden O'Brien will have the big boys out tomorrow
for the Classics -let's hope he can deliver
MORE AFFILIATE RUBBISH
Some people just have no qualms when it comes to
the lovely wonga they can make promoting any old
crap to their email lists. I spoke about lay 51
operation last week, and this week, a progressive
staking calculator under the name of The Betting
Machine is doing the affiliate rounds. Now these
progressive staking calculators are as old as
Menzies Campbell, the old Lib Dem leader
(emphasis on the word Old) and the claims made on
the bumph is highly misleading.
I have spoken many times about this. I don't
dismiss progressive staking. BUT I know that if you
can't hit your targets (i.e. 1 in 5 bets winning at
evens or over) then you're in trouble. And the
golden rule with these are - KNOW IN ADVANCE
THE WORSE CASE SCENARIO - if you do that
and that figure makes you shout "TAXI!" then this
isn't for you.
For, as sure as night follows day, in the period of a
year, there will come a time when an anomalous set
of results comes and kills your betting bank. Now
that's guaranteed!
The irrepressible Richard Mark is selling the self
same thing. Now this guy has a great copywriter
because his mail shots are so effective BUT the
products leave a little to be desired. He has one he's
flogging, I think it's the Guaranteed Horse racing
money machine, or some such thing.
I would avoid it personally!
If progressive staking interests you, I'll tell you
where you can get a calculator for free!
NEWBIES
I now have got a copy of "Money Talks" by Tony
Gibson from Sportsworldpublishing, which I am
unable to really back test, so will begin on Monday
once I've digested the information. As with the
majority of what Tony Gibson writes, it is well
thought out and logical, and past results show it
seems to be very effective indeed
With prices generally below 2/1 the projected 60+%
strike rate all but guarantees profits so I really look
forward to getting this one out and tested.
This is Martin "on the buses" Blakey's new system
- the one I referred to in the newsletter and past
eletters as "too good to be true".
I must say I am surprised at the early release of the
system. I look forward to testing it and would
suggest you wait for any report from me. I will blag
a copy this weekend I hope
The results he sent me were really silly (in a good
way!) - double figure priced winners here, there
and everywhere!
Well, I'm moving this week, just up the road to
Castleisland. I have already contacted my showbiz
pal Nicky Campbell at Watchdog to complain -
why? Well, Castleisland isn't an Island and it
doesn't have a castle! It's a little more spacious than
where I'm living presently for only a small increase
in rent. Killarney is still only a small drive away.
I won't be moving, though, until the Ricky Hatton
come back fight at the weekend. I'm really looking
forward to this and have found a hostelry where I
can sit in a corner, pretend to be local, and enjoy the
fight.
I'm off now to do some system blagging!
Hope you have a great weekend
Cheers
Clive
